Kumera Machinery Oy has its operations at the modern production plant in Kylmäkoski, Finland.

The facility, with 17000 sq.m under the roof, is capable to produce heavy and accurate steel structures. It is also equipped with the latest technology for machining demanding components. Our permanent customers are mainly within pulp and paper machine, mining and metallurgical, chemical, and offshore industries, shipyards and power plants. Heavy complex components are supplied to all of these customers.

Holding an ASME U stamp

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has authorized Kumera Machinery Oy to manufacture pressure vessels in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) which provides the rules for the design, fabrication and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels. The ASME U stamp means that the production of pressure vessels follows the laws of the United States and Canada and allows deliveries to these markets. The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is also recognized in many other countries to conform with the local regulations.

Capable for PED pressure equipment deliveries

A Notified Body has certified that Kumera Machinery Oy has the technical capability, personnel and procedures to manufacture pressure equipment in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU). This allows deliveries of pressure equipment to the European Community.

Capable for working under the rules of maritime classification societies

The classification societies verify the structure and safety of a ship’s hull with all of its components and subsystems. If a vessel has been manufactured following the rules of a society, it may apply for a certificate of classification. In the classification process, the society’s surveyors will visit the ship components’ production facilities to see that the applicable rules are followed.
